حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي الْمُحْرِمِ إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ يَقْطَعُهُمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنْ الْكَعْبَيْنِ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5528
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar: I heard Ibn Umar narrate that the Messenger of Allah said concerning the muhrim (pilgrim in ihram): "If he cannot find sandals, let him wear khuffayn (leather slippers) and let him cut them so that they come tower than the ankles.
