حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ بِالْحِجْرِ لَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ الْقَوْمِ الْمُعَذَّبِينَ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونُوا بَاكِينَ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُونُوا بَاكِينَ فَلَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يُصِيبَكُمْ مِثْلُ مَا أَصَابَهُمْ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5441
It was narrated that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, when he was in al-Hijr (the Rocky Tract): "Do not enter upon these people who have been punished, unless you are weeping. If you are not weeping then do not enter upon them, lest there befall you the like of what befell them."
