حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا جَبَلَةُ قَالَ كُنَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ فِي بَعْثِ أَهْلِ الْعِرَاقِ فَأَصَابَتْنَا سَنَةٌ فَجَعَلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ يَرْزُقُنَا التَّمْرَ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يَمُرُّ بِنَا فَيَقُولُ لَا تُقَارِنُوا فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الْقِرَانِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْتَأْمِرَ الرَّجُلُ مِنْكُمْ أَخَاهُ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5435
Jabalah narrated: We were in Madinah with the delegation from Iraq, and were struck by faitiine- Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr provided us with dates. 'Abdullah bn 'Umar passed by us and said: Do not eat two together, for the Messenger of Allah forbade eating tvvo dates together, unless a man asks his brother for permission.
