مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5349
It was narrated that Ibn Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) observed i'tikaaf during the last ten days of Ramadan. A hut was made for him out of palm leaves. He stuck his head out one day and said. "When one of you is praying, he is conversing with his Lord (PBUH), so let one of you think of what he is saying when he is conversing with his Lord, and do not raise your voices over one another when reciting in prayer."
