حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الْمُزَابَنَةِ قَالَ فَكَانَ نَافِعٌ يُفَسِّرُهَا الثَّمَرَةُ تُشْتَرَى بِخَرْصِهَا تَمْرًا بِكَيْلٍ مُسَمًّى إِنْ زَادَتْ فَلِي وَإِنْ نَقَصَتْ فَعَلَيَّ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5320
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of (PBUH) forbade muzaabanah. Naafi' used to explain it as selling what is on the top of the palm trees for dried dates of a specified amount, if there is more it is mire (the buyer’s) and if there is less then it is my (the buyer's) loss.
