حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ خَرَجَ فِي فِتْنَةِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ وَقَالَ إِنْ نُصَدَّ عَنْ الْبَيْتِ صَنَعْنَا كَمَا صَنَعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5298

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar set out during the turmoil (civil war) of Ibn az-Zubayr and said: If we are prevented from reaching the House, we will do what the Prophet (PBUH) did.
