حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَفْعَكُمْ أَيْدِيَكُمْ بِدْعَةٌ مَا زَادَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى هَذَا يَعْنِي إِلَى الصَّدْرِ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5264
It was narrated from Bashir Ibn Harb: I heard Ibn say: Your raising your hands is bid’ah: the messenger of Allah (PBUH) did not do more than this” meaning (raising the hands) up to the chest.
