حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فِي حَلْقَةٍ قَالَ فَسَمِعَ رَجُلًا فِي حَلْقَةٍ أُخْرَى وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لَا وَأَبِي فَرَمَاهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ بِالْحَصَى فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ يَمِينَ عُمَرَ فَنَهَاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْهَا وَقَالَ إِنَّهَا شِرْكٌ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5256
It was narrated that Sa'd ibn 'Ubaydah said: I was with Ibn 'Umar in a study circle, and he heard a man in another circle saying: No, by my father. Ibn 'Umar threw some pebbles at him and said: That was the oath of 'Umar, but the Prophet (PBUH) told him not to say that, and he said: "It is shirk.”
