حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْعُمَرِيُّ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ وَنَافِعٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَلْبَسُ السِّبْتِيَّةَ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ فِيهَا وَذَكَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُهُ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5251
It was narrated from Sa'eed al-Maqburi and Naafi' that Ibn 'Umar used to wear sandals of tanned leather and do wudoo' in then (ie., washing his feet and then putting on the sandals when his feet were still wet), and he said that the Prophet (PBUH) used to do that.
