حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ فُضَيْلٍ وَيَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ ضَعْفٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْ بَعْدِ ضَعْفٍ قُوَّةً ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ ضَعْفًا فَقَالَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ ضُعْفٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْ بَعْدِ ضُعْفٍ قُوَّةً ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ ضُعْفًا ثُمَّ قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا قَرَأْتَ عَلَيَّ فَأَخَذَ عَلَيَّ كَمَا أَخَذْتُ عَلَيْكَ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5227
It was narrated that 'Atiyyah a]-'Awfi said: I recited to Ibn 'Umar: "Allah is He who created you in (a state of) weakness of mind (da'f), then gave you strength after weakness of mind, then after strength gave (you) weakness of mind" [ar -Room 30:54J. He said: "Allah is He who created you in (a state of) weakness of body (du'f), then gave you strength after weakness of body, then after strength gave (you) weakness of body" [ar _Room 30:54]. Then he said: I recited it to the Messenger of AJlah (PBUH) as you have recited it me, then he corrected me as I have corrected you.
