حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَمَثَلِ الشَّاةِ الْعَائِرَةِ بَيْنَ الْغَنَمَيْنِ تَعِيرُ إِلَى هَذِهِ مَرَّةً وَإِلَى هَذِهِ مَرَّةً لَا تَدْرِي أَهَذِهِ تَتْبَعُ أَمْ هَذِهِ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5079
It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "The likeness of the hypocrite is that of a sheep that (is confused and) roams between two flocks, going to one and then to the other, and does not know whether to follow this one or that one."
