حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنْ الْوَرْسِ وَالزَّعْفَرَانِ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ فَقُلْتُ أَنَا لِلْمُحْرِمِ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5076
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar I heard Ibn 'Umar narrate that the Prophet (PBUH) forbade wars {memecylon tinctorium, a plant dye) and saffron. Shu'bah (one of the narrators) said: I said: For the muhrim (pilgrim in ihram)? He said: Yes.
