حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ فَقُلْتُ أَنُهِيَ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ فَقَالَ قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ فَقُلْتُ مَنْ زَعَمَ ذَاكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ قَالَ فَصَرَفَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنِّي يَوْمَئِذٍ وَكَانَ أَحَدُهُمْ إِذَا سُئِلَ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَضِبَ ثُمَّ هَمَّ بِصَاحِبِهِ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5074
It was narrated that Thaabit al-Bunaani said: I asked Ibn 'Umar: Is nabeedh made in earthenware jars forbidden? He said: They say so. I said: W'ho says that; was it the Prophet (PBUH)? He said: They say so. I said: O Abu 'Abd ar-Rahmaan, did you hear it from the Prophet (PBUH)? He said: They say so. Then Allah made me stop repeating the question. If one of them was asked, Did you hear it from the Prophet (PBUH)?, he would get angry and want to punish the one who asked him.
