حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ سُحَيْمٍ قَالَ كَانَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ يَرْزُقُنَا التَّمْرَ وَبِالنَّاسِ يَوْمَئِذٍ جَهْدٌ قَالَ فَمَرَّ بِنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ فَنَهَانَا عَنْ الْإِقْرَانِ وَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الْإِقْرَانِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْتَأْذِنَ الرَّجُلُ أَخَاهُ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5063
It was narrated that Jabalah ibn Suhaym said: Ibn al-Zubayr used to provide us with dates, as the people had been stricken with famine at that time. Ibn 'Umar passed by us when we were eating and told us not to eat two together, and he said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade eating two ogether, unless a man asks his brother for permission.
