حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سُرَاقَةَ قَالَ كُنَّا فِي سَفَرٍ وَمَعَنَا ابْنُ عُمَرَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يُسَبِّحُ فِي السَّفَرِ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ وَلَا بَعْدَهَا قَالَ وَسَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثِّمَارِ فَقَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثِّمَارِ حَتَّى تَذْهَبَ الْعَاهَةُ قُلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَمَا تَذْهَبُ الْعَاهَةُ مَا الْعَاهَةُ قَالَ طُلُوعُ الثُّرَيَّا
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5012
It was narrated that 'Uthmaan ibn 'Abdullah ibn Suraaqah said: We were on a journey and Ibn 'Umar was with us. I asked him (something) and he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) not pray any (Sunnah prayer) before or after (the obligatory prayer) when travelling. And I asked Ibn 'Umar about selling crops and he said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade selling crops until the (risk) of blight has passed. I said: 0 Abu 'Abd ar-Rahmaan, when has the risk of blight passed? He said: When the Pleiades appear.
