حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَنِي حَنْظَلَةُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ وَأَتَاهُ أُسَامَةُ وَقَدْ لَبِسَهَا فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِي قَالَ شَقِّقْهَا بَيْنَ نِسَائِكَ خُمُرًا أَوْ اقْضِ بِهَا حَاجَتَكَ

مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4979

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: Usaamah came to him wearing it (the suit). The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) looked at him and he (Usaamah) said: You gave it to me to wear. He said: "Cut it up and make headcovers for your wives, or (sell it and use the money) to meet your needs."
