حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ قَالَ أَتَيْنَا ابْنَ عُمَرَ فِي الْيَوْمِ الْأَوْسَطِ مِنْ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ قَالَ فَأُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ فَدَنَا الْقَوْمُ وَتَنَحَّى ابْنٌ لَهُ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ ادْنُ فَاطْعَمْ قَالَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ قَالَ فَقَالَ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّهَا أَيَّامُ طُعْمٍ وَذِكْرٍ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4970
It was narrated that Abu'sh-Sha' tha' said: We came to Ibn Umar on the middle day of the days of Tashreeq. Some food was served and we drew close, but a son of his stayed back. He said to him: Come and eat. He said: I am fasting. He said: Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "These are days of eating and dhikr?
