حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْكِلَابِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَفَ عَلَى قَلِيبِ بَدْرٍ فَقَالَ هَلْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَا وَعَدَكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّهُمْ لَيَسْمَعُونَ مَا أَقُولُ فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِعَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ وَهِلَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُمَرَ إِنَّمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّهُمْ الْآنَ لَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ الَّذِي كُنْتُ أَقُولُ لَهُمْ لَهُوَ الْحَقُّ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4958
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) stood over the well of Badr and said: "Have you found what your Lord promised you to be true?" Then he said: "They can hear what i am saying." Mention of that was made to 'Aa'ishah and she said He - i-e., Ibn 'Umax - was must have got confused; rather the Messenger erf Allah (PBUH) said: "Now they know that what i used to say to them is true."
