حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ فَقَالَ حَرَامٌ فَقُلْتُ أَنَهَى عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَزْعُمُونَ ذَلِكَ

مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4915

It was narrated that Thaabit al-Bunaani said: I asked Ibn 'Umar about nabeedh made in an earthenware jar. He said: (It is) haraam. I said: Did the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbid it? Ibn 'Umar said: They say so.
