حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَرَأَى فِي الْقِبْلَةِ نُخَامَةً فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ قَالَ إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا صَلَّى فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَإِنَّهُ يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يَسْتَقْبِلُهُ بِوَجْهِهِ فَلَا يَتَنَخَّمَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْقِبْلَةِ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِعُودٍ فَحَكَّهُ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِخَلُوقٍ فَخَضَبَهُ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4908
It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) prayed in the mosque and saw some sputum in the qiblah. When he finished his prayer, he said: "When One of you prays in the mosque, he is conversing with his Lord, and verily Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, is turning His Countenance towards him, so none of you should spit towards the qiblah or to his right." Then he took a stick and scratched it, then he called for some khalooq (a kind of perfume) and applied it to it
