مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4905
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that he proposed to the daughter of a relative of his through marriage: the girl's mother favoured Ibn 'Umar but her father wanted her to marryan orphan he was taking care of. So the father gave her in marriage to that orphan. She came to the Prophet (PBUH) and told him about that, and the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Consult women with regard to their daughter's marriages."
