حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا نَادَى فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا يَجْتَنِبُ الْمُحْرِمُ مِنْ الثِّيَابِ فَقَالَ لَا يَلْبَسُ السَّرَاوِيلَ وَلَا الْقَمِيصَ وَلَا الْبُرْنُسَ وَلَا الْعِمَامَةَ وَلَا ثَوْبًا مَسَّهُ زَعْفَرَانٌ وَلَا وَرْسٌ وَلْيُحْرِمْ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي إِزَارٍ وَرِدَاءٍ وَنَعْلَيْنِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ وَلْيَقْطَعْهُمَا حَتَّى يَكُونَا أَسْفَلَ مِنْ الْعَقِبَيْنِ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4899
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that a man called out: O Messenger of Allah, what garments should the muhrim (pilgrim in ihram) avoid? He said: "He should not wear pants, a chemise, a burnoose, a head cover or any garment that has been touch by wars (memecylon tinctorumed a plant dye) or saffron. Letone of you enter ihram in an izar and rida' and sandals; if he cannot find any sandals, let him wear khuffayn, and cut them so that they come below the ankles."
