حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَىِ بْنِ حَبَّانَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ يَحْيَى أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ وَأَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ قَالَ لَهُ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ لَا تَرَوْنَ الْقَتْلَ شَيْئًا وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلثَّمَادَةِ لَا يَنْتَجِي اثْنَانِ دُونَ صَاحِبِهِمَا
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4871
It was narrated from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habbaan that a man told him. narrating from his father Yahya, that he was with 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar and that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said to him at the time of turmoil (civil war): Do you not regard killing as a serious matter? And the Messenger of Allah said to a group of three: "Two should not converse privately to the exclusion of their companion."
