حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَبِيحَةَ عَرَفَةَ مِنَّا الْمُكَبِّرُ وَمِنَّا الْمُهِلُّ أَمَّا نَحْنُ فَنُكَبِّرُ قَالَ قُلْتُ الْعَجَبُ لَكُمْ كَيْفَ لَمْ تَسْأَلُوهُ كَيْفَ صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4850
It was narrated that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) on the morning of 'Arafah, and some of us were saying takbeer and some were reciting the talbiyah. As for us, we were reciting takbeer, I [the narrator] said: By Allah, how strange it is that you did not ask him: what was the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) doing?
