حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ طَرِيقِ الشَّجَرَةِ وَكَانَ يَدْخُلُ مَكَّةَ مِنْ الثَّنِيَّةِ الْعُلْيَا وَيَخْرُجُ مِنْ الثَّنِيَّةِ السُّفْلَى
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4843
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to depart via the road that passes by the tree [at Dhu'l-Hulayfah] and he used to enter Makkah through the upper mountain pass and depart through the lower mountain pass.
