مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4782
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to camp in 'Arafah at Wadi Namirah. When al-Hajjaaj killed Ibn az-Zubayr, he sent word to Ibn 'Umar, asking him at what time the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) departed on this day. He said: When it is time, we shall depart. Al-Hajjaaj sent a man to watch and see at what time he would depart. When Ibn Umar wanted to depart, he said: Has the sun passed the meridian? They said: It has not passed the meridian yet. He said: Has the sun passed the meridian? They said: Not yet. When they said that it had passed the meridian, he departed.
