حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَعْجَلْ أَحَدُكُمْ عَنْ طَعَامِهِ لِلصَّلَاةِ قَالَ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَسْمَعُ الْإِقَامَةَ وَهُوَ يَتَعَشَّى فَلَا يَعْجَلُ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4780
It was narrated that Ibn “Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "No one of you should rush when eating for the prayer.” And Ibn 'Umar would hear the iqnamah (call immediately preceding the prayer) whilst he was eating his supper, and lie would not rush.
