حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنِ الْعُمَرِيِّ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الْوِصَالِ فِي الصِّيَامِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّكَ تَفْعَلُهُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4752
It was narrated from Jbn 'Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) forbade fasting continuously (without breaking the fast at night}, it was said to him: But you do that He said: "I am not like one of you; my Lord feeds me and gives me to drink"
