مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4747

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: I heard a hadeeth from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), I did not hear it just once or twice... or even seven times; rather I heard it more often than that. He said: "al-Kifl was one of the Children of Israel who would not refrain from any sin that he knew he could do. A woman came to him and he gave her sixty dinars to let him have intercourse with her. When he was in a position with her as a man is with his wife, she started shaking and crying. He said: Why are you crying? Did I force you? She said: No, but this is something I have never done before and the only thing that made me do it is poverty. He said: Are you doing this when you have never done it before? Then he left her alone and said: Go, and the money is yours to keep. Then he said: By Allah, al-Kifl will never disobey Allah again. Then he died that night, and in the morning (it was found) written on his door. Verily Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, has forgiven al-Kifl."
