حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ غَزْوَانَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو دُهْقَانَةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَيْفٌ فَقَالَ لِبِلَالٍ ائْتِنَا بِطَعَامٍ فَذَهَبَ بِلَالٌ فَأَبْدَلَ صَاعَيْنِ مِنْ تَمْرٍ بِصَاعٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ جَيِّدٍ وَكَانَ تَمْرُهُمْ دُونًا فَأَعْجَبَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ التَّمْرُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ أَيْنَ هَذَا التَّمْرُ فَأَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ أَبْدَلَ صَاعًا بِصَاعَيْنِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رُدَّ عَلَيْنَا تَمْرَنَا
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4728
Abu Duhqaanah said: I was sitting with 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar and he said: A guest came to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and he said to Bilaal: Bring us some food, so Bilaal went and exchanged two saa's of dates for a saa’ of high quality dates, because ttar dates were of a lower quality. The Prophet (PBUH) the dates and said: "Where did these dates come from?" And he told him that he had exchanged one saa' for two saa's. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Go and get our dates back."
