حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَأْكُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ أُضْحِيَّتِهِ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ إِذَا غَابَتْ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ الْيَوْمِ الثَّالِثِ لَا يَأْكُلُ مِنْ لَحْمِ هَدْيِهِ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4643
It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "No one among you should eat from his udhiyah for more than three days." When the sun set on the third day, Ibn 'Umar would no longer eat from the meat of his sacrificial animal.
