حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ كَانَ أَهْلُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَبِيعُونَ لَحْمَ الْجَزُورِ بِحَبَلِ حَبَلَةٍ وَحَبَلُ حَبَلَةٍ تُنْتَجُ النَّاقَةُ مَا فِي بَطْنِهَا ثُمَّ تَحْمِلُ الَّتِي تُنْتَجُهُ فَنَهَاهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4640
It was narrated that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said: The people of the JaahiJiyyah used to sell the meat of the camel in return for habl al-hobalnh . What is meant by habl al-habalah is that the she-camel brings forth that which is in her belly, then the one that she brought forth becomes pregnant. And the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade them to do that.
