حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ وَبَعْدَمَا يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ مِنْ الرُّكُوعِ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ وَأَكْثَرُ مَا كَانَ يَقُولُ وَبَعْدَمَا يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ مِنْ الرُّكُوعِ وَلَا يَرْفَعُ بَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4540
It was narrated from Saalim, from his father (who said): i saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) when he began the prayer; he raised his hands until they were level with his shoulders, (and lie raised his hands) when he wanted to bow, and after lifting his head from bowing- And I did not see him raise (his hands) between the twoprostrations.
