حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ حَمَلَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَوَجَدَهَا تُبَاعُ فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ شِرَائِهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَعُدْ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4521
It was narrate d from Saalim from his father, that "umar Ibn al-Khattaab donated a horse to be ridden (in jihad) for the sake of Allah, then he found it being offered for sale, fie asked the Prophet (PBUH) about buying it but the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Do not take back your charity."
