حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُضْرَبُونَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا اشْتَرَوْا طَعَامًا جُزَافًا أَنْ يَبِيعُوهُ فِي مَكَانِهِ حَتَّى يُؤْوُوهُ إِلَى رِحَالِهِمْ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4517
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that they would be beaten at the time of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) if they bought foodstuff , without measure then sold it on the spot unless they moved it to their own place.
