حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ الَّذِي يَجُرُّ ثَوْبَهُ مِنْ الْخُيَلَاءِ لَا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ نَافِعٌ فَأُنْبِئْتُ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ فَكَيْفَ بِنَا قَالَ شِبْرًا قَالَتْ إِذَنْ تَبْدُوَ أَقْدَامُنَا قَالَ ذِرَاعًا لَا تَزِدْنَ عَلَيْهِ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4489
It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “Whoever lets his garment drag out of pride, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection." Naafi' said: I was fold that Umm Salamah said: what about us (women)? He said: A handspan (to drag along the Pound)." She said: Then our feet show. He said: "A cubit, but no more than that."
