حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُرَشِيِّ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ مَرَّ بِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَهُوَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ فَإِنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ الْقِيرَاطُ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ أُحُدٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ انْظُرْ مَا تُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ حَتَّى انْطَلَقَ بِهِ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَ لَهَا يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنْشُدُكِ بِاللَّهِ أَسَمِعْتِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ فَإِنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ فَقَالَتْ اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَشْغَلُنِي عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَرْسُ الْوَدِيِّ وَلَا صَفْقٌ بِالْأَسْوَاقِ إِنِّي إِنَّمَا كُنْتُ أَطْلُبُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَلِمَةً يُعَلِّمُنِيهَا وَأُكْلَةً يُطْعِمُنِيهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ أَنْتَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كُنْتَ أَلْزَمَنَا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَعْلَمَنَا بِحَدِيثِهِ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4453
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that he passed by Abu Hurayrah when he was narrating that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Whoever attends the funeral and offers the funeral prayer will have one qiraat (of reward), and whoever attends the burial will have two qiraats, and a qiraat is greater than (Mount) Uhud." Ibn Umar said to him: O Abu Hirr, watch what you narrate from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) Abu Hurayrah got up and took him to 'Aa'ishah, and he said to her: O Mother of the Believers, I adjure you by Allah, did you hear the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say: "Whoever attends the funeral and offers the funeral prayer will have one qiraat (of reward), and whoever attends the burial will have two qiraats”?. She said: By Allah, yes. Abu Hurayrah said: I was not distracted from (staying close to) the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) by planting palm tree saplings or going to the marketplace; I would seek a word (of knowledge) from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and he would teach it to me, and I would seek a bite of food and he would give it to me. Ibn 'Umar said to hint You, O Abu Hurayrah, spent the most time with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and you have the most knowledge of his hadeeth.
