حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَجُلًا جَاءَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ نَذَرَ أَنْ يَصُومَ كُلَّ يَوْمِ أَرْبِعَاءَ فَأَتَى ذَلِكَ عَلَى يَوْمِ أَضْحًى أَوْ فِطْرٍ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِوَفَاءِ النَّذْرِ وَنَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ النَّحْرِ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4449
It was narrated that Ziyaad ibn Jubayr said: I saw a man come to Ibn 'Umar and ask him (a question). He said that he had vowed to fast every Wednesday, and that coincided with the day cf (Eld) al-Adha or (Eid) al-Fitr? Ibn 'Umar said: Allah has enjoined fulfilment of vows but the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade us to fast on the Day of Sacrifice.
