مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 3017

It was narrated that Ibn Abbas (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) went out to the mosque gesturing with his hand like this - and Abu 'Abdur-Rahman gestured with his hand towards the ground - [saying:] " Whoever gives respite to (a debtor) who is in difficulty or waives (the debt) for him, Allah will protect him from the vehement heat of Hell. The deeds that lead to Paradise are tough and difficult - three times - and the deeds that lead to Hell are smooth and easy. The blessed one is the one who is protected from temptation. And nothing that you could swallow is dearer to me than anger that a person swallows; if a person swallows his anger for the sake of Allah, Allah will fill his heart with faith."
