حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ وَمُؤَمَّلٌ الْمَعْنَى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَصَابُوا رَجُلًا مِنْ عُظَمَاءِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَتَلُوهُ فَسَأَلُوا أَنْ يَشْتَرُوا جِيفَتَهُ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 3013
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Muslims caught one of the prominent men of the mushrikeen and killed him. They [the mushrikeen’ asked to buy back his body and the Prophet (PBUH) forbade them to do that. Mu'ammal said: The Prophet forbade them to sell his body.
