مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 2965
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) did not set a specific punishment for drinking alcohol. Ibn 'Abbas (PBUH) said: A man drank alcohol and got drunk, and he was found staggering in the street. He was brought to the Prophet (PBUH), but when he came level with the house of 'Abbas, he got free and entered upon 'Abbas, who held him from the back. They mentioned that to the Prophet (PBUH), who smiled and said, "Did he do that?" And he did not tell them to do anything with him.
