حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُعَلِّمُهُمْ هَذَا الدُّعَاءَ كَمَا يُعَلِّمُهُمْ السُّورَةَ مِنْ الْقُرْآنِ يَقُولُ قُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَفِتْنَةِ الْمَمَاتِ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 2839
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah bgfe) used to teach them this supplication as he would teach them a soorah from the Qur'an. He would say: "Say: O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the punishment of Hell; I seek refuge with You from the punishment of the grave; I seek refuge with You from the trial of the Dajjal; and I seek refuge with You from the trials of life and death."
