مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 2795

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Jibreel took Ibraheem to Jamratal-'Aqahah, dr? where the Shaitan appeared to him; he struck him with seven pebbles and he sank into the ground. Then he took him to al- Jamratal-Wusta, where the Shaitan appeared to him; he struck him with seven pebbles and he sank into the ground. Then he came to al-Jnmratal-Quszva [the furthest Jamrah] where the Shaitan appeared to him; he struck him with seven pebbles and he sank into the ground. And when Ibraheem wanted to slaughter his son Ishaq, [the latter] said to his father; O my father, tie me up so that I will not shake, lest my blood come on you when you slaughter me. So he tied him up, but when he took out the blade and wanted to slaughter him, a call came from behind him: "O Abraham! You have fulfilled the dream" [as-Saffat [37:104,105].
