حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ تَمَتَّعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى مَاتَ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ حَتَّى مَاتَ وَعُمَرُ حَتَّى مَاتَ وَعُثْمَانُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّى مَاتَ وَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ نَهَى عَنْهَا مُعَاوِيَةُ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَعَجِبْتُ مِنْهُ وَقَدْ حَدَّثَنِي أَنَّهُ قَصَّرَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِشْقَصٍ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (RA) did 'Umrah during the Hajj season until he died, as did Abu Bakr until he died, and 'Umar until he died, and 'Usman until he died. The first one to ban that was Mu'awiyah. Ibn 'Abbas said: I was surprised at that, as he had told me that he cut the hair of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) with the head of an arrow.
