حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ عَلَى أَبِي قَتَادَةَ وَهُوَ عِنْدَ رَجُلٍ قَدْ قَتَلَهُ فَقَالَ دَعُوهُ وَسَلَبَهُ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 2620
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) passed by Abu Qatadah when he was standing beside a man he had killed, and he said: "Leave him and the booty (the slain man's belongings) alone."
