حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَأَيُّوبَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا صُرِعَ مِنْ رَاحِلَتِهِ فَمَاتَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَغْسِلُوهُ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ وَأَنْ يُكَفِّنُوهُ فِي ثَوْبَيْهِ وَأَنْ لَا يُخَمِّرُوا رَأْسَهُ فَإِنَّهُ يُبْعَثُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مُلَبِّيًا وَقَالَ أَيُّوبُ مُلَبِّدًا
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 2591
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that a man was thrown from his mount when he was in ihram and died. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) instructed them to wash him with water and lotus leaves and shroud him in his two garments, but not to cover his head, for he would be raised on the Day of Resurrection reciting the Talbiyah. And Ayyoob said: With his hair stuck together [with a sticky substance, as was the custom of pilgrims at that time].
