حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَعْلَةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّا نَغْزُو أَهْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَأَكْثَرُ أَسْقِيَتِهِمْ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ حَمَّادٌ وَعَامَّةُ أَسْقِيَتِهِمْ الْمَيْتَةُ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ دِبَاغُهَا طُهُورُهَا
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 2522
It was narrated that 'Abdur- Rahman bin Wa'lah said: i said to Ibn 'Abbas (RA) : We are campaigning against the people of the Maghrib and most of their waterskins are made from animals that were not slaughtered properly. He said: I heard the Prophet (PBUH) say: "Its tanning is its purification."
