It was narrated from 'Ammar bin Abi 'Ammar from Ibn 'Abbas (RA), and from Thabit al-Bunani from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to deliver the khutbah leaning on a tree trunk. When he started to use the minbar, he moved to the minbar, and the trunk made a sorrowful sound until he came to it and embraced it, then it calmed down. He said, "If i had not embraced it, it would have continued to grieve until the Day of Resurrection.”
