حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ وَأَيُّوبَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَامَ حَتَّى سُمِعَ لَهُ غَطِيطٌ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ فَقَالَ عِكْرِمَةُ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَحْفُوظًا
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 2194
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) slept until he could be heard breathing deeply, then he got up and prayed, and he did not do wudoo'. 'Ikrimah said: The Prophet (PBUH) was protected.
