مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 2127
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said: When 'Usman bin Maz'oon died, a woman said: Congratulation, Paradise is yours, 'Usman bin Maz'oon. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) looked at her and said angrily: "How do you know?" She said: O Messenger of Allah, [he was] your horseman and your companion. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "By Allah, 1 am the Messenger of Allah, but I do not know what will happen to me." The people were worried about 'Usman. Then when Zainab, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), died, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Join the one who went ahead of us, 'Usman binMaz'oon." The women wept and 'Umar started striking them with his whip, but the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) took him by the hand and said: "Take it easy, O 'Umar." Then he said (to the women): "Weep, but beware of the wailing of the Shaitan !' Then he said: "Whatever comes from the eye and the heart is from Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, and is a sign of compassion, but whatever comes from the hand and the tongue is from the Shaitan.”
